The Nature coast has long been regarded as the jewel in Florida’s Gulf of Mexico coast, comprising of the Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties, Spring Hill lies at the centre of this area and therefore is an ideal location from which to explore its many attractions, Weeki Wachee Springs is right next to Spring Hill, this is a major Florida Attraction with its Mermaid and animal shows and a boat trip up the perfectly clear waters of the Weeki Wachee river, this is well worth a half day visit.

Homasassa Springs is a short trip north of Spring Hill and is a must visit, the Homassasa state park is the best place in the whole of Florida to see Manatee in their natural surroundings and many other of Florida’s wildlife species from Alligators to the Black Bear, the park has a boat trip and many interesting shows and exhibitions on Florida Wildlife and Fauna.

Some of the best fishing can be had off of the nature coast and this sport is well supported from Hernando Beach just a few miles from Spring Hill, here you will find day and half day fishing trips, shore and lake fishing is also available throughout the region.

The best way to see the nature coast is by boat or canoe these can be hired for use on the Weeki Wachee and Homasassa rivers, or if your not too keen to captain your own boat then visit Captain Mike’s for Lazy River Cruise’s on the Withlacoochee river & Rainbow Springs River.

Florida’s Gulf coast is a truly wonderful place from Golden beaches to wildlife wonderland such variety of scenery makes the Gulf coast the place for a villa holiday.
